Dr. Gajendra S. Shekhawat
Dr. Gajendra S. Shekhawat carried out his Ph.D. from premier Central Electronic Engineering research institute (CEERI) in India in Applied physics and Material Science in 1996. Gajendra joined the State University of New York in 1999 and developed research programs such as MEMS based high speed Scanning Probe Microscope, nano-metrology for high resolution imaging of buried nanostructures and Molecular interconnects and devices using polypeptides based molecular wires. Since 2002 Dr. Shekhawat has been with the research faculty at the Northwestern University and has is also directing Nanoscale Fabrication, testing and Instrumentation Center which provides nanoscale patterning, e-beam lithography and scanning probe microscope based characterization and nanopatterning for various materials and devices. This center has been a training ground for next generation nano-bio-soldiers. Dr. Shekhawat invented MOSFET based electronic devices and also a new technology based on Ultrasound holography, which can be used for imaging buried nanostructures. Both these technologies have been published in the journal Science (2006). Dr Shekhawat has over more than 15 years of experience in nanofabrications, MEMS and CMOS based devices, Scanning probe microscopy and nanopatterning. He is one of the founders of Nanosonix Inc. and has over more than 60 peer reviewed publications.Innovations is in his blood and he is currently developing Nanomechanical Ultrasonic Bioprobe for non-invasive imaging of biological materials and molecular sensors/devices for ultimate chase based detection beyond CMOS.
